OTTO HATLESTADT DIES SUDDENLY


Otto Hatlestadt was born in Filmore County, Minn., on Oct. 15, 1878 and came to Clark County in 1912 and moved to the present farm in Taylor County in 1921. He had, at different times, served as Treasurer and as chairman of the Town of Holway near Medford.


He was united in marriage to Miss Ida Norden on Jan. 11, 1899 at Bloomfield Church near Leroy, Minn.


Mr. Hatlestad, 60, passed away at his farm home Saturday morning, Aug. 5, 1939 of a heart attack. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 8, 1939 at 2:00 o'clock from the Holway Lutheran Church, Rev. W. L. Anderson officiated.


He is survived by his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Wm. (Eleanor) DeWitt, Seymour Mrs. Jacob (Margaret) Johnson, Red Cliff, Iowa Mrs. Henry (Agnes) Olson, Madison Mrs. Howard (Edna) Hong, now traveling in Norway, four sons, Bernard, Carl, Joseph and Alfred of Holway 10 grandchildren, 3 brothers, Joseph in Iowa Hans in Montana and Sevrjun in Minnesota, and two sisters, Henrietta and Mary.


At one time the family resided on the farm now owned by Joe Herr and on which the Otto Abel family now reside (Greenwood, Clark County)
