ARTHUR EDBLOM, SR.


Funeral services for Arthur Edblom, Sr., 88, of Unity, Clark County, were held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 3, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Unity, who passed away at 6:25 p.m., Saturday, April 30, 1977 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, where he had been admitted earlier in the day.


Rev. Elton H. Moore, pastor, officiated at the service and burial followed in the church cemetery.


Arthur Edblom, Sr., was born June 25, 1888, in Chicago, Ill., where he also received his education. He farmed all his life in the Unity area until his retirement in 1950. After retiring he did some carpenter work and lived in the Village of Unity. He was a ember of Trinity Lutheran Church.


He was married in 1909 to Alvina Johnson, who preceded him in death in 1938. He later married Alfrieda Wilbert Meyer on Sept. 22, 1945, at the Green Grove Parsonage.


He is survived by his wife, Alfrieda six daughters, Mrs. George (Esther) Egnoski and Mrs. Harvey (Ethel) Faulker, both of Oshkosh, Mrs. Cecil (Evelyn) Alexander, Owen, Mrs. Norman (Eleanor) Mellenthin, Route 1, Spencer, Mrs. Lester (Eileen) Safemaster, Unity and Mrs. Calvin (Gail) Bombard, Ore. five sons, Arnold, Abbotsford, Arlyn and Alvin, both of Colby, and Arthur, Jr. and Alfred, both of Unity 35 grandchildren 35 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
