GEORGE STARK
 

George Stark, 90, formerly of Greenwood, Clark County, died Monday, Feb. 24, 1992, at Neillsville Memorial Hospital, Neillsville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, 1992, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Greenwood. Rev. Thomas Myhre of St. Johns's Lutheran Church, Withee, will officiate. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.


Visitations will be from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, at Rinka Funeral Home.


George Stark was born Feb. 2, 1902 in Seymour, to Carl and Anna (nee Grube) Stark. He received his education at Rose Lawn School and Maple Ridge School, town of Mead. He moved on a farm at age 16 in the town of Mead. He married Helen Bruchert Sept. 5, 1936 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Withee. They farmed on the home farm in the town of Mead until 1946. In 1951 he moved to the city of Greenwood. He was treasurer for Maple Ridge School for nine years a member of the Greenwood Fire Department for 14 years a director of the Greenwood Credit Union member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its Church Council member of the church dartball team and a member of the Clark County Historical Society. He worked as a sexton for the Greenwood Cemetery Association for many years.


Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Janet) Rogalski, Thorp one sister, Mrs. Alma Doell, Menasha and one brother, Robert, Marshfield.


He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, one sister, Elsie and two brothers, Alfred and Frank.


Rinka Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
