LLOYD SIMENSON (1920 - 2000)


Lloyd SIMENSON, 79, of Withee, passed away January 7, 2000 at his residence.


Lloyd was born in Stanley on May 21, 1920, to Peter and Helen (BRANDVOLD) SIMENSON. He grew up here and attended area schools.


He served in the US Army in the Asiatic pacific Theater during World War II, where he received the Purple Heart and many other decorations. After the war, he returned to Stanley.


He married Kathleen KRISIK in 1952. They lived in the Stanley area until 1960, when they moved north of Thorp and later to the Withee area. There, he was a truck owner-operator for many years until his retirement, when he turned the business over to his son, David.


In 1975, he married Phyllis WHITCOME in Chippewa Falls.


He is survived by his son, David (Patricia) of Withee a daughter, Sandra of Minneapolis, MN a stepson, Ronald (Nancy), of Chippewa Falls two stepdaughters, Cherel CIGAN of Chippewa Falls and Geraldine GORDON of Oklahoma a sister, Borghild COOK, of Milwaukee three grandchildren nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.


He is preceded in death by his parents his wife, Phyllis, on January 25, 1994 six sisters three brothers and two stepchildren.


Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 12, at the Plombon Funeral Home in Stanley. Pastor Thomas Gonzalez officiated.


Committal service will be held tomorrow, January 14, at the East Side Cemetery in Stanley. The Stanley V. F.W. Post 2711 will conduct military graveside rites.


Plombon Funeral Home of Stanley was in charge of the arrangements.
