Mrs. Tillie Poppe, 88, formerly of Greenwood, Clark County, who has been residing at Neillsville Memorial Home for the past year, died at about 10:30 P.M., Sunday, Dec. 16, 1979.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Dec. 19 at 2 P.M. at Immanuel United Church of Christ. Rev. Alwyn York officiated and Mrs. Leona Albert was the organist. Burial was in the Braun Settlement Cemetery (Forest Hill).
Tillie Horn was born April, 13, 1891 in the town of Longwood to Robert and Christina (Braun) Horn. She received her education at Braun Settlement Grade School.
She was married on June 18, 1913 at the Braun Settlement Area to George Poppe.
They farmed in the Town of Longwood until 1962 when they moved to the Town of Beaver.
She was a member of Immanuel Church and Salem Ladies Aid.
Surviving her are two daughters, Mrs. Art (Mayvin) Hendrickson of Greenwood and Mrs. Leroy (Violet) Wadzinski of Ravenna, Neb. one son, Elery of Citrus Heights, Cal. two brothers, Hubert Horn of Greenwood and Ervin Horn of Minneapolis, Minn. nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Herbert Horn, Lloyd Horn, Gerald Horn, Kenneth Horn, Darrell Horn and Donald Horn, all nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband in 1969 two sisters and five brothers.
Rinka Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
