The community was saddened last Thursday to learn of the death of Mrs. Emma Loos, who passed away that morning at her home in this city.

Emma Dreher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Minrad Dreher, was born in Cleveland, Ohio, Nov. 6, 1857. She lived in Cleveland until her marriage on Nov. 4, 1880, to Rev. George Loos.

They then lived in the following places where Rev. Loos served congregations, Potter, Wis. Morman Coulee, near La Crosse Alma, Wis. Monroeville, Ohio Port Hope, Mich. Rising Sun, Indiana So. Milwaukee, Wis. and Lowell, Wis. Due to the failing health of Rev. Loos they moved to Greenwood in the fall of 1911 where he hoped to regain his health on a farm. However, a few months later in Jan. 1912, he passed away and she was left a widow.

Seven children were born to this union, five daughters and two sons. Her four oldest daughters preceded her n death, the oldest one dying in infancy. Two daughters, Lydia Loos Kessel and Emma Loos died in 1912, shortly after their father's death. Laura Loos Krokus died suddenly in 1925.

Three children remain to mourn. They are Alfred Loos of Dallas, Texas, Mrs. Ruth Wiltsey and Roland Loos at home. She is also survived by four grandchildren, John Kessel, Donald and Dorothy and Gladys Wiltsey, a sister, Mrs. Lucy Houck of Cleveland, Ohio, a brother, Rev. W. Dreher of Cleveland, Ohio, two brothers-in-law, Rev. Wm. Loos of Duluth, Minn., and Henry Awe of Greenwood, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. C. Bast of Milwaukee.

She suffered from heart attacks since the sudden death of her daughter, Laura. These attacks became more frequent until they confined her to her bed the beginning of last December. In January she seemed to be getting strong and was able to be up part of the day, but since the beginning of February her strength gradually declined and the end was hastened by an attack of the flu. Death came to her as a longed for relief from suffering.

Funeral services were held from the local Reformed church Monday afternoon, Rev. E.G. Pfeiffer officiating. The body was laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Those from out of town who attended the funeral were: Alfred Loos of Dallas, Texas Mrs. Wm. Dreher of Cleveland, Ohio Rev. Wm. Loos of Duluth, Minn. and Mrs. C. Bast and daughter Lila of Milwaukee, Wis.
