OTTO STOCK, FORMER LOYAL BUSINESSMAN DIES


Otto Stock, 85, owner of Stock Chevrolet from 1935 to 1956 died at St. Joseph's Hospital on Thursday, July 15, 1976.


Committal services for Mr. Stock were held at the Loyal Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 17, and a memorial service was held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal, at 2 p.m. The Rev. William Humlie officiated, with the Rinka Funeral Home in charge.


Pallbearers were Ervin Dux, Ronald Domine, LaVerne Kronberger, Gerald Zettler, Harold Dahl, and Frank Fabian. Ronald Gluch was the organist.


Otto A. Stock was born at Abbotsford, Aug. 22, 1890, and received his education in a rural Clark County School.


His marriage to Nora Wilbert took place June 4, 1913, at Dorchester.


The couple farmed near Curtiss for two and a half years, then moved to Abbotsford. A few years later they moved to Marshfield, where he managed the Standard Oil Bulk Station. In 1925, the Stocks moved to Loyal, where he first operated the Loyal Oil Company until 1935, when he became involved in the Chevrolet agency. In 1956, he became semi-retired with the business then owned by Julius Nysted.


He had been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal.


His parents, one brother, and a sister preceded him in death.


Surviving are his wife, Nora, two daughters, Mrs. (Alene) Schroeder, Loyal, and Mrs. Julius (Nina) Nysted, Flagstaff, Ariz., a sister, Mrs. Walter (Ella) Jungerberg, Eau Claire, seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Stock, Otto A. (20 August 1890 – 15 July 1976)

Memorial services were held from Trinity Lutheran Church Saturday, for Otto A. Stock, 85, of Loyal. He died July 15 in Marshfield, where he had been a patient for several weeks.

Mr. Stock was born in Abbotsford August 20, 1890, and was married to the former Nora Wilbert on June 4, 1913, in Dorchester.

He farmed in Curtiss for several years before moving to Abbotsford. From there he went to Marshfield. In 1925 he moved to Loyal, and in 1935 he became owner of the Stock Chevrolet Company.

A committal service was at 11 a.m. from the Rinka Funeral Home in Loyal. Burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery. Ronald Gluch was the organist. Pallbearers were Harold Dahl, Gerald Zettler, LaVerne Kronberger, Ronald Domine and Ervin Dux.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Roy (Alene) Schroeder of Loyal, and Mrs. Julius (Nina) Stock of Flagstaff, Az.; and one sister, Mrs. Walt (Ella) Jungerberg of Eau Claire. There are seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
