Emma O. Krause (1919 - 1999)


Emma Ottilie Krause, 79, of Rib Lake, died Tuesday, June 1, at the Rib Lake Health Care Center in Rib Lake where she had resided since 1995. Funeral services were held Friday, June 4, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Curtiss with Rev. Lauren Ley officiating.


Burial took place in Abbotsford Public Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mark, John, Wayne, Renee, and Shari Krause, Anne Mattson, and Mike Lindau.


Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford handled arrangements.


The former Emma O. Heimbach was born June 27, 1919, in Abbotsford to John and Ottilie (Neske) Heimbach. On December 14, 1940, she married Soloman Krause in Waukon, Iowa.


She and her husband farmed in the Town of Green Grove. In 1978, they moved to Marshfield and later to Prentice. She enjoyed baking, especially pies. She also enjoyed her flower garden of roses and geraniums and was an avid crossword puzzle worker.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Curtiss.


Survivors include her husband, Soloman of Prentice two sons, Greg (Pat) of Prentice and Neil (Janet) Krause of Curtiss a daughter, Carol Lindau of Marshfield one sister, Gertrude Koffarnus of Worthington, Minn. seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by three brothers, Alfred, John and Walter Heimbach.
