Norma Knar (1912 - 1999)

 

Norma Knar, 87, Stanley, WI, died Thursday, January 28, 1999 at Victory Medical Center, Stanley, WI. Her funeral was at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Stanley, Monday, February 1, 1999 at 2:30 p.m., with Pastor William Stewart officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery, Stanley. Visitation was from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley.
 

Surivivors include her sons, Dick (Renee) Knar of Fond du Lac, WI, Jack (Jacqueline) Knar of Stanley, WI 11 grandchildren: Peggy Truckey, William (Lora) Knar, Katherine Moniz, John T. (Dorothy) Knar, Karen (Thomas) Schilling, Kathleen (Peter) Ryan, Richard (Theresa) Knar, Deanne (Dean) Thompson, Constance (Daniel) Wuest, Susan Knar and Cheryl Knar 24 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson one sister Hjordis (Robert) Carr of Milwaukee, WI and countless other relatives (nieces and nephews) and friends. Norma is preceded in death by her husband John in March of 1974 her parents, John A. and Rogna Larson 8 brothers 5 sisters.


Norma was born November 23, 1999 to John A. and Rogna (Solie) Larson and worked as a tresurer/secretary at NorthWestern Lumber Co. and as a bookkeeper for Chippewa Cheese Corporation and Chippewa Company, following her high school graduation. She also operated her own income tax service until April of 1966 when she became office manager for Knar Ford Sales, a business owned by her husband John and she. Norma retired in December 1977 leaving the business to her son Jack who had become a partner in 1967. Throughout her life Norma was an active volunteer for various State, County, and City programs, including circles service Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Stanley, WI where she was baptized and confirmed.
