Lee, Janet (9 March 1924 – 29 February 1976)

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Rinka Funeral Home in Loyal for Mrs. Willard (Janet) Lee, who died early Sunday morning.

The Rev. David E. Wenger of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Greenwood, officiated. Burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery.

Pallbearers were, Clarence Gorsegner, Hugh Darton, Kenneth Schmidt and Walter Szymanski, all of Loyal, and Richard Thompson and Robert Harvey of Neillsville.

Mrs. Lee was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Sterr of Marshfield, former long-time residents of Loyal. She was born March 9, 1924, in Lomira, and attended grade and high schools in Loyal, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

She was married February 25, 1942, in Loyal to Dr. Willard L. Lee. Her husband for many years was a practicing veterinarian, and Mrs. Lee assisted him in his practice. Later Dr. Lee sold his practice to assume a position as managing partner in the Loyal Canning Co., which previously had been owned and operated by Mrs. Lee’s father.

Mrs. Lee’s body was found on the garage floor at her home about 9:30 a.m. Sunday, by her husband. Coroner Robert Lulloff said the motor on one of the family cars was running and the garage door was closed. He ruled that Mrs. Lee had taken her own life.

Survivors in addition to her husband include, a daughter, Sally Jo, of Marshfield, a son, Willard L. Lee, Jr. of Wausau; two grandchildren; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Sterr of Marshfield; and a sister, mrs. Ethel Will of Beaver Dam.
