RITES THURSDAY FOR H.L. COREY (1898 - 1956)


Former Garage man of Greenwood Was 58


Greenwood--Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday of Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church here for Howard Leason Corey, 58, former Greenwood businessman who died Monday night at Memorial Hospital, Neillsville, after a four week illness. Death was due to cancer.


Friends may call at the Stabnow Funeral Home until noon tomorrow and then at the church. The Rev. Charles Koch will conduct the rites and burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.


Mr. Corey was born in Lowell May 20, 1898, had resided in Greenwood since his marriage. He and the former Lee North were wed at Wabasha, Minn. July 25, 1927. He operated a garage here from 1030 to 1945 and after selling the business he worked as a carpenter, painter and mason. He served on the City Council for a number of years.


Survivors include his wife two sons, Gary N. Neillsville and Pfc. Jack L., stationed with the Army in Germany a grandson, Howard, Neillsville and five sisters, Mrs. August (Edith) Lemberg, Loyal, Mrs. Carl (Alice) Perkins and Mrs. Adolph (Florence) Wolski, Greenwood, Mrs. Arthur (Sadie) Jacobson and Mrs. Leonard (Olive) Neuman, Milwaukee. One brother, Merrin, preceded her in death.
