OBITUARY OF MRS. W. T. COPELAND (23 Jul 1864- 10 Feb
1925)
Jennie Allen was born on July 23, 1864 at
Vineger Hill, Ill., residing there up to the time of her marriage
to W. T. Copeland, which took place Oct. 26, 1894. They then reside
at different points in Iowa and Illinois and came to Clark County
in 1911, where they purchased the John Stafford farm, where she
suddenly died Feb. 10th, 1925. He death was a shock to all.
The remains were taken to Galena, Ill., Feb. 12th, accompanied
there by Mr. Copeland, James Copeland and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred
Overhouse. The funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon, Feb.
15 at 2:30 o'clock from the home of her sister, Mrs. Figgie, and
laid to rest in the Galena Cemetery.
She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, three adopted children,
Alfred Overhouse of Greenwood, Mabel Otley of Canton, Mo., Kenneth
Bonebright of Salt Lake City, Utah. Five sisters and two brothers
who are Alex Allen, Mrs. Peter Specht, Mrs. John Figgie, Mrs.
Ernest Schleicher, all of Galena, Ill., Mrs. Chas. Kurz, Chas.
Allen of Dubuque, Ia., and Mrs. D. Macklin of Chicago. They were
all present at the funeral but Kenneth and Mabel. She also leaves
many other relatives and a host of friends.
Mrs. Copeland was a faithful wife, a good neighbor and will be
greatly missed by all who knew her.
