Schade, Elaine M. (Marriage - 26 August 1967)

Christ Lutheran Church in Abbotsford was the setting for the 2 p.m. wedding ceremony Saturday uniting in marriage, Elaine M. Schade, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Schade of Abbotsford, and Ronald V. Gosse, whose parents are Mr. and Mrs. Victor Gosse of Curtiss.

Performing the double ring ceremony was the Rev. F. H. Sprengler. Tangerine carnations and California-orange daisy chrysanthemums were used in the bouquets in the church. Altar bouquets were made of Bird-of-Paradise and daisies. Two trees covered with daisies and baskets of gladioli adorned the back of the altar.

The bride and groom approached the altar through a white archway decorated with gladioli. Mr. Schade gave his daughter in marriage. For her wedding the bride chose a floor-length gown of organza, fashioned in the empire silhouette that featured long, tapered sleeves and a scoop neckline. Re-embroidered Alencon lace adorned the front of the A-line skirt and the sleeveless coat train was highlighted by a deep border of lace. Her tiered bouffant veil fell forward from a petal headpiece of Alencon lace and crystals. She carried a crescent-style bouquet of Bird of Paradise and stephanotis, backed with tropical croton leaves and crystal ribbon loops that matched the headpiece.

Matron-of-honor was Mrs. Dennis Bowen of Wausau, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Miss Kay Gosse of Wausau, sister of the groom, and Mrs. Kurt Hoffman of Marshfield, a friend. The attendants wore persimmon linen floor-length gowns, fashioned with long sleeves. Venetian lace trimmed the empire waistlines and Watteau attached to the back of the gowns. Their pouf veils were attached to petal headpieces. Each carried a crescent bouquet of green cymbidium orchids, orange California daisy pompons, highlighted with green frosted grapes and orange feathers.

Sam Gosse, uncle of the groom, was his bestman. Groomsmen were Dennis Bowen of Wausau and Wayne Schade of Sussex, brother of the bride. Ushers were Danny Buss of Abbotsford and Keith Gayken of Colby.

The bride, a graduate of Abbotsford High School, recently graduated from a beauty culture course in Eau Claire. She is affiliated with Alpha Sigma Beta Chi sorority. The groom, also a graduate of Abbotsford High School, is employed by a food company in Milan.

On their return from a wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Gosse will reside at 305 Alexander Street, Wausau.
