Herington, Donna (Marriage - 19 August 1967)

A double ring ceremony Saturday at 3 p.m. united in marriage Miss Donna Herington, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harley Herington of Withee, and Sid Sorensen, of Crystal Lake, Ill., son of Mr. and Mrs. Sig Sorensen of Withee.

Baskets of yellow and white gladioli with yellow and bronze chrysanthemums graced the altar of Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee, before which the Rev. H. W. Luetkehoelter performed the ceremony. Two hundred guests witnessed as Mr. Herington gave his daughter in marriage.

For her wedding, the bride chose a floor-length sheath of organza, highlighted by a detachable train that was secured at the back waistline and swept into a chapel length sweep. Chantilly lace enhanced the elbow-length sleeves and the Empire bodice and extended into the slim skirt and train. Her bouffant veil was secured to a queen’s crown of sheer organza petals, enhanced with pearls. She carried a bridal bouquet of pink cymbidium orchids, glamillias, stephanotis and ivy.

Her aides were Miss Diane Herington of Withee as maid-of-honor; and Miss Linda Thompson of Osseo and Miss Jean Wright of Eau Claire as bridesmaids.

They were seen in sleeveless floor-length sheaths of Nile green organza, highlighted by floating back panels of chiffon and embroidered Empire bodices. Their blush veils were attached to pearl crowns, with inserts of peau. Each carried yellow and gold glamillias.

Mike Peterson of LaGrange, Ill., was best man. Groomsmen were Larry Herington of Withee and Tom Steele of Wausau. Ushers were Jim Ammentorp and Marvin Ammentorp.

Jill Seaton of Minneapolis, Minn., was the flowergirl.

Mr. and Mrs. Sorensen will make their home in Crystal Lake, Ill., after returning from a northern Wisconsin wedding trip.

The bride is a 1966 graduate of Wisconsin State University - Eau Claire, and teaches in the Barrington (Ill.) public schools. Mr. Sorensen received a Master’s degree from Eau Claire, where he was affiliated with Phi Sigma Epsilon fraternity. He is a mathematics teacher in Crystal Lake, Ill.
