Eugene Endries was chosen Farmer of the week on TV over Wausau. Pictures of his 200 acre farm was shown on use of draining and ditching. He spoke by way of tape on Monday's noon show to Buck Leverton.

Laura Luchterhand has spent the past week with her sister and family in Manawa. On Sunday the annual Breier family reunion was held at the New London Park. About 100 people were present. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Luchterhand and family and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Luchterhand and family attended from here. Laura returned with the latter.

Vonne Mews returned home from Milwaukee a week before school started. She had been employed there for the summer by a family caring for children.

Mrs. Alvin Kissinger will teach in Granton school for retarded children this year.

Mrs. Richard Grieser and two youngest children, and Mrs. Charles Vanderhoof drove to Minnesota to attend the Fair and visit relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Kissinger were recent guests at the home of Elmer Horn.

A tree fell across the high line on Wednesday evening, near the George Collinson home and caused many of the REA to have no electricity for several hours right around milking time. So tractors and trucks found plenty of use.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kurtz attended the funeral services of a very dear friend, Marie Louis Opelt, age 15, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Opelt of Christie, who was fatally injured in a bicycle/car accident on Monday near her home. She was buried from the United Church of Christ of Neillsville on Thursday at 2 p.m., the Rev. Gene Carlson officiating. Her earthly resting place is the Christie Cemetery, Town of Weston. "Suffer little children to come unto me."

Mrs. John Beer, mother of Harvey Mews, has been admitted to the Marshfield hospital.

Mrs. Norbert Griepentrog got out of the Marshfield hospital on Thursday afternoon. She is still weak.
