Rush Wentworth went to Edgerton Friday and returned Monday. He reports the crops as pretty nearly ruined on account of a hail storm, then a drought, and Sunday night a heavy frost.

Some of the farmers are threshing while others are cutting corn and getting ready to fill silos since the frost.

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Oldenburg and little daughter Iva Belle, with Mrs. Bowers of Unity, attended the fair at Neillsville last week Thursday and took supper at H.A. Nonhof's.

Ben Doede called on Max Treichel at the Neillsville Hospital last Thursday evening and Truman Davis called on him Friday evening.

Marjorie and Josephine Pietenpol spent Sunday afternoon with Lucile and Lila Davis.

Truman davis and wife called on Rob Thompson last Sunday afternoon.

Mrs. W.J. Davis entertained the Social Club Wednesday at a quilting.

Louis Davis writes that he is in Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas where he will prepare himself for civil engineer work in France when called.

Frank Lavey is hauling milk to our factory now since Sept. 1st.

Carroll Cornwell, who enlisted with the Crandon boys, writes that he is in Texas.

Ben Wilbur from Neillsville white-washed barns for some of the people in this vicinity.

Louis Hemp and family autoed up from Neillsville Sunday afternoon to see pa and mar Krejci.
