Schecklman, Irene C. (12 MAY 1924 - 6 NOV 2012)

Irene C. Schecklman, age 88, of Chili, went peacefully in the arms of the Lord on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, surrounded by her loving family, under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice Services. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Marshfield. Father Eric Berns will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Stephen's Cemetery in Chili. Relatives and friends may call from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, November 9, 2012, at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home (1010 E. Veterans Parkway, Marshfield) and again from 1:00 PM until the time of service at the church on Saturday.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Ronald Hetzel, Jarrett Knutson, Joshua Schueller, Tyler Wolf, Jeremy, Jordan, and Logan Schecklman. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Adam and Jacob Ajoub.

Irene was born on May 12, 1924, at home in the township of Fremont, Clark County, to Otto and Clara (Franke) Gaulke. She received her education at Pine Circle School. She was united in marriage to George Schecklman on November 29, 1947, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Bakerville. George preceded her in death January 16, 2001.

Irene cherished time spent with her family. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and anything to do with country music, including trips to Nashville and Branson, and more recently enjoyed time spent playing Mexican Train and shaking dice. Irene was a homemaker and also worked as office manager at Chili Implement until her retirement.

Irene is lovingly survived by her children, Sandra (Raymond Roehl) Smith of Chili, Annette (Michael) Knutson of Marshfield, Jacalyn Schueller of Marshfield, Debra (Joe) Wolf of Medford, Bradley (Sara) Schecklman of Chili, and Shelly (Nassan) Ajoub of Henderson, Nevada. Irene is further survived by her grandchildren, Ronald (Pattie) Hetzel, Dean Hetzel, Jennifer (Chris) Dehn, Kendra (Moises) Ferreyra, Jarrett (Kylie) Knutson, Danielle (Curt) Vogel, Michelle Knutson (friend, Roger), Shawna (Ashok) Dhariwal, Stacy (Ed) Hoche, Joshua Schueller, Amanda Schueller, Tyler Wolf, Tenille (Wade) Matyka, Jeremy, Jordan and Logan Schecklman, Adam and Jacob Ajoub; and great grandchildren, Sydnie, Kimmie and Tatianna Hetzel, Daniel and Natasha Hetzel, Andy and Kelly Andrews, Miranda, Mariah and Jacob Dehn, Graciela Ferreyra, Aiden and Ashlyn Vogel, Sienna, Aryianna and Xavier Dhariwal, Hannah and Lauren Hoche; one sister, Esther Uschold, of Menomonie Falls, and Special Godson, Jerry Roehl.

Irene is preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Clara; her husband, George; brothers, Clarence (Frances), Edwin (Doris), and Warren (Vernetta) Gaulke, sisters Lorriane Haas (Frank Reder, Joe Haas), Verna Roehl, and son-in-law, Larry Schueller.
