Hollenbach, Louise (30 MAR 1874 - 24 AUG 1917)

Mrs. Geo. Hollenbach died at 5 o’clock p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 1917 as the result of an apoplectic stroke suffered shortly after three o’clock that afternoon. Deceased had been a patient sufferer from a complication of disease for the last four years and although up and about most of the time she has been greatly afflicted.

Louise Neitzel was born in Milwaukee, Wis. in 1874, a daughter of Otto and Susan Neitzel, and came here when a little girl with her parents who took up residence in the town of Lynn. On June 20th, 1893 she was united in marriage to George Hollenbach here in the old Fischer Church in the town of Grant. To them were born nine children, Violet, Agnes, Esther, Otto, Forest, Rosella, Wallace, Gerald and Anita, all surviving and at home with their father. She is beside her immediate family, survived by her mother, Mrs. Susan Neitzel and sister Elsie at the old home place in Lynn, sister Lydia, Mrs. Clare Marsh of California, Mollie, Mrs. Paul Hempe of Milwaukee, Clara, Mrs. W.D. Stewart of Spokeville and Laura, Mrs. Floyd Pietenpol of the town of York.

Mrs. Hollenbach was a kind, loving Christian woman, and was loved most by those who knew her best. In all her life she enjoyed the highest degree of respect and good will of her large number of acquaintances. The funeral services were held at the Adventist Church at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon. Rev. Wilson Mallory of the Church of Christ officiated and spoke words of comfort to the bereaved ones. The Lynn choir sang at the services, several well-known and most appropriate hymns. The floral tributes were very numerous and most beautiful. The casket was heaped with a profusion of beautiful flowers as well as surrounded by handsome set pieces. The pallbearers were Oscar Johnson, H.E. Williams, L.E. Moh, Herman Riedel, Wm. Sternitzky and Carl Williams. The remains were laid to rest in the Windfall Cemetery near those of loved ones gone before.

Among the out of town relatives and friends ehre and attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. John Hollenbach and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hollenbach of Almond, Mrs. L.G. Zimmer and daughter Ruth of Eau Claire, Mrs. Dan Sullivan of Phillips, Mrs. Peter Hollenbach and daughter Clara of Minneapolis, Mrs. W.D. Stewart and children of Spokeville, Will Rayhorse, Fred Schultz, Miss Martha Berger and Mrs. Joe Gressler of Milwaukee.
