 Larsen, Gerelda   (28 JUNE 1910 - 13 MAR 1998)

Gerelda Larsen, age 87, of Neillsville, died Friday, March 12, 1998, in Marshfield.  She was born June 28, 1910 in St. Paul, Minn. to Gilbert and Bertha (Jacklin) Thompson.  She spent her childhood in West Allis and moved to Neillsville in 1921.  She was a graduate of the Neillsville High School and worked at the American Stores and the Neillsville Milk Products prior to her marriage. 

She married Ingvart (Buster) Larsen July 16, 1930 and they farmed in the Town of Washburn until his death.  She late moved into town and was a linotype operator and bookkeeper at The Clark County Press for 46 years.

She enjoyed walking, gardening, flowers, and was an active member of the United Church of Christ.  She had been a resident of Memorial Nursing Home, Neillsville since breaking her hip in October.

Survivors include three children, Brad Larsen, Port Orange, Fla., Forest Larsen (Angie) Neillsville and Deon (James) Spangler, Neillsville.  She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.  Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond and Forest.

The Cremation Society of Wisconsin is handling arrangements and a memorial service will be held in April.
