Glasshof, Judith (18 JUN 1960)

The wedding of Judith Glasshof and Arthur E. Alger took place at the Methodist Church at Thorp on Saturday, June 18th, 1960 at 2:30 p.m.  Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Chester Glasshof of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) and Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Alger of Chippewa Falls.

Officiating at the ceremony was Rev. Richard Alger, brother of the groom, of Wis. Dells.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of embroidered organza over ruffled tulle.  The Sabrina neckline was etched with Venice lace and sequins and short sleeves graced the elongated bodice.  Crescent shaped Venice lace cascaded over the full bell-shaped skirt.  Her arched crown held pearl drops and a fingertip imported veil of pure silk illusion.  She carried a bouquet of pink carnations and stephanotis.

Geraldine Dudonsky of Thorp, a friend, was honor attendant and the bridesmaids were Gretchen Parks of Thorp, a friend, and Barbara Glasshof, sister of the bride.  They wore street length gowns of floral bouquet prints in pastel shades, respectively, pink, blue and maize fashioned with a scoop neckline and taffeta cummerbunds.  They carried floral bouquets of pink, blue and yellow matching their dresses.

Charlotte Kocheres of Roselle, Ill., a niece of the bride, as flower girl, wore a sheer white dress with a full skirt and carried pink and blue carnations.

Attending the groom as best man was Dennis Qennier, a cousin of the groom from Milwaukee, Wis. and the ushers were Charles Alger, brother of the groom of Chippewa Falls and Keith Glasshof, a brother of the bride of Thorp.

Organ music "Song of Ruth" was played by Jan Boardman.

Reception was held in the church parlors immediately following the ceremony for their many guests.

Both the bride and the groom attended grade school, high school and Sunday school at the Methodist Church of Thorp.

The bride has been employed as a secretary at the Thorp Finance Corp. and the groom has been attending Eau Claire State College.  They will make their home at 439 Hilbert Ave., Eau Claire, Wis.
