Sherwood (20 October 1911)

If it keeps on raining very much more the farmers will have to make a boat to get from the house to the barn.

A number of the farmers from here took in the fair at Pittsville Saturday.

Jule Zimmendorf and Geo Vanderhey made a horse trade last week.

Albert Gall, Art Sparks and Clark Calkins were out coon hunting Saturday night, but they found that they were getting their feet wet, so they returned home with out Mr. Coon.

A baby boy was born at the home of George Vanderhey last Tuesday.

Minnie Scholtz and Emma Freedlund spent Saturday and Sunday at home.

The biggest part of the farmers is about through digging their potatoes and they report a good crop, but lots of rotten ones.

The Dewhurst mail man has made the raise of a new top on his buggy and now he says let it rain.

The rains are doing considerable damage to the roads.
