Washburn (21 October 1965)

 

Mrs. John Reinart, Mrs. Edgar Spiegel and Robert Spiegel spent last week Tuesday evening at the Oliver Williams home, where they made plans for the Halloween carnival which is being planned by the Washburn P. T. A.  The Carnival will be held at the school next Thursday evening, October 28.

 

Mrs. Christ Feutz will entertain the Cannonville Ladies Aid today (Thursday), with dinner served at noon.

 

Mrs. Christ Feutz entertained the Washburn Homemakers club Thursday, with 11 members and five visitors in attendance. The visitors were Mrs. Bruce Spiegel, Mrs. Frank Short, Mrs. Oliver Williams and Mrs. Art Williams and Sarah Fairbanks.  Mrs. Albert Lincoln and Mrs. John Reinart presented the project, "Pictures for family enjoyment."  They had many pictures which they displayed.  Mrs. Don Hoover will be hostess at the next meeting, November 11.  Mrs. Elmer Kapfer and Mrs. Ralph Short will present the project on, "Family Dinners."

 

Bible study will be held at the Carl Von der Ehe home Wednesday evening at 7:30.

 

Duane Mashin who has been stationed at Fort. Leonard Wood, Mo., arrived home Friday night to spend a 12-day furlough with his wife and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Mashin.  He is being transferred to a school in Virginia.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Urban and daughters, Debbie and Brenda, and Mr. and Mrs. Irving Stevens drove to Ladysmith Saturday, where they visited Mr. Steven’s cousin, Irma Nelson, at the hospital. Miss Nelson was an overnight visitor at the Stevens home a couple of weeks ago and suffered a stroke the day after returning home.  She has been very ill.

 

Dr. and Mrs. Ell (Skip) Lee of Milwaukee spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kissling, and Ernest Kissling, and family.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Enlow of Verona visited Saturday at the Ralph Short home. They spent the weekend at Rock Dam with friends.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Thomson and family of Chicago spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ragnar Mortenson, and Robert Mortenson, and family.

 

Leland Krause of Rockford, Ill., spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Krause.
