Richmond, Harold R. "Bob" (5 JUL 1923 - 19 MAR 2012)

 

Harold "Bob" Robert Richmond, 88, of Neillsville, died on Monday, March 19, 2012, at the Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Harold "Bob" was born on July 5, 1923, south of Neillsville, the son of William and Jessie Richmond. He attended school at the town of Levis, Rock Creek School. He then worked three years for the O&M Lumber Company. He enlisted in the United States Army and served from 1948 to 1954. During that time he was stationed in Germany. 

When he returned to Neillsville he worked for Nelson Muffler until 1977. 

He was united in marriage to Irene Mathews on April 12, 1969. 

Bob operated the Riviera Supper Club for six years and then drove truck for Neillsville Rendering for four years. The last 20 years he was the custodian at the Neillsville IGA. He entered the Neillsville Care and Rehab Center on Sept. 28, 2011. 

Harold "Bob" was a good man. He enjoyed the family get-togethers, gardening, reading and playing solitaire. He really enjoyed his friends at the Senior Center. He also enjoyed the special people that took care of him at the Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Bob is survived by his step-children, Cindy (Tom) Kopp of Neillsville, Kathy Albers of Jacksonville, Fla., Tom Lulloff of Fortworth, Texas and Mike Lulloff of Odessa, Texas; grandchildren, Troy, Jeanie, Stephanie, Becky, Heather, Chris, Meranda, Gennifer, Gregory and Bob. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Evie (Roger) Mathews of Racine; and a brother-in-law, Leonard Reuth of Loyal.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Irene; a brother, Glenn; and a sister, Eileen.

Funeral services for Bob will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2012, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Pastor Douglas Bjerke will officiate. Military services will be accorded by the Neillsville Veterans Council. 

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at the Gesche Funeral Home and again from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday morning. Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Serving as casket bearers will be Tom Kopp, Troy Kopp, Wayne Elmhorst, Tim Kopp, Duane Pozega and Jeremy Pozega.
