Lyon, Dimple Delight (03 JUNE 1891-31 MAY 1958)

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Claire Lyon were held in the Loyal Methodist Church at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 3.

 

Mrs. Lyon died in St Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield at 12:20 a.m. Saturday, May 31. She suffered a stroke last fall but was apparently recovering from that illness. Friday night she became ill and was taken to the hospital but lived only two hours after becoming ill.

 

She was born June 5, 1891 in the town of Loyal, and received her education in the Dodgeville rural school. The former Dimple Delight Smith was married to Claire Lyon at Neillsville, April 16, 1913.

 

They farmed in the town of Beaver and Loyal for 40 years and then moved into the city of Loyal.

 

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Walter (Alice) Kindt of Greenwood and Mrs. Alfred (Genevieve) Stenelson, Black River Falls; three sons, Sugene, Fall River, Melvin, Milton Junction and Delbert, Milwaukee; two sisters, Mrs. Oswald (Lottie) Henninger, and Mrs. James (Vera) Roder, Loyal; two brothers, Archie Smith and Floyd Smith, also of Loyal; a stepmother, Mrs.Fannie Smith, Owen; and 12 grandchildren.

 

Two brothers, Owen and Lee, preceded her in death.

 

The Rev. Wendell Bennetts officiated at the funeral services and burial was in the Loyal Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers were Del Anderson, Ray Prior, James White, Max Miller, Hugo Stutte, and Joseph Esselman.

 

Miss Neila Foelske soloist, sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "When the Roll is Called up Yonder". Mrs. Byron Zepplin was organist.
