Lastofka, Anna (28 August 1885 - 16 July 1965)

 

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Georgas Funeral Home for Mrs. Anna Lastofka, 79, of Neillsville, who died here Friday following an illness of several years. The Rev. Oscar Nichols of the Neillsville Methodist Church officiated.  Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

Mrs. Lastofka, the former Anna Plummer, was born August 28, 1885, in Hixton, where she attended school.  The family came to Clark County when she was 14, and located on a farm in the Town of York. As a young lady she was employed in Eau Claire for several years.  Her parents were the late John and Elizabeth (Weber) Plummer.  In 1912 she was married to Martin Lastofka in Neillsville.  He died in 1942.  Since 1912 Mrs. Lastofka had been a resident of Neillsville.

 

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. John (Doris) Thornton of Neillsville; and a son, Robert Lastofka of Castra Valley, Cal.  Other survivors are four grandsons, and a brother, Frank Plummer of Marshfield.

 

She was a member of Golden Link Camp No. 78, Royal Neighbors of America.

 

Pallbearers were: Wm. A. Campman, Herman North, Theodore Mech, Jacob H. Hoesly, Charles Neff and Judge Lowell D. Schoengarth.

 

"Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" were sung by Ellis Wall, accompanied by Mrs. Jess W. Scott.

 

People from out of town attending the service were: Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lastofka of Castra Valley, Cal.; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lennie, Mrs. Arthur DeeLac, Mr. and Mrs. John Pearson, all of Eau Claire; Mrs. Bernard Walker of Willard; and Mrs. Art Ampe of Greenwood.
