Washburn (24 June 1965)

 

Brenda Urban, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Urban, had her tonsils removed at Memorial Hospital recently.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Short drove to Reedsburg Sunday, where they attended an open house and dinner honoring her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. William Lodge, on their 50th wedding anniversary.

 

Iva Kegley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kegley, and William Lodge, were married at Hillsboro June 23, 1915. They are the parents of seven children, all of whom were home for the occasion except a daughter, Mrs. Lewis Olson, another sister of Mrs. Lodge, and several neighbors and friends were also in attendance.

 

Rev. Virgil Holmes, former pastor of Neillsville Methodist Church is pastor of Reedsburg Methodist Church, where the Lodge family, are members. The Rev. Mr. Holmes preached his first sermon at Reedsburg church Sunday.  He and his family, his wife and five children, moved to Reedsburg from Spooner last week.

 

Dale Reinart, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Reinart, got the end of one of his fingers on his left hand quite badly crushed last week when he accidentally hit it with a post-mall while putting in some posts for a fence.

 

Daily Vacation Bible School is being held at Cannonville Church this week, under the supervision of Missionary Dean Nelson of Alma Center. Five women are teaching. They will present a program at the church Friday night at 8 p.m.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Reinart have given their barn a new coat of paint.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Claude Kyle had new siding put on their house last week, which improves it very much.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Austin and family visited at the Mrs. Art Odell home one evening last week.

 

Mr. and Mrs. William Poler visited at the Oliver Williams home Saturday night.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Rutherford of Black River Falls, and Paul Schultz, visited Sunday at the Mrs. Art Odell home.

 

Ronnie Feutz of Wisconsin Rapids spent Saturday with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Christ Feutz.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Val St. John called at the Mrs. Art Odell home Wednesday.

 

Mrs. Oliver Williams called at the Casper Dieter home Friday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Leonard St. John and family moved onto a farm in Levis last week.

 

Mr. and Mrs. John Reinart and family and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Dahnert, spent Sunday at the Don Syth home in Eau Claire in honor of Father’s Day.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Allan Troemner and sons, Greg and Scott, of De Forest, Elaine Short of Milwaukee and Mr. and Mrs. Art Short called at the Ralph Short home Saturday evening.

 

Mrs. Cora Skretteberg visited at the Norbert Pettit home Sunday.
