Dux, Arthur E. ‘Coonie’ (30 November 1903 - 17 June 1965)

 

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, on the anniversary of his wedding, from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville for Arthur E. (Coonie) Dux, 61, of 1105 Hewett St., Neillsville. He died June 17 in Neillsville. The Rev. Norman Lindloff officiated at the service.  Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

Arthur E. Dux was born November 30, 1903, son of the later William C. and Anna (Ramhut) Dux.  He was a member of the class of 1924 of Neillsville High School and had resided in this immediate community his entire lifetime.  His marriage to the former Dorothy Lenzkow took place June 21, 1942, in La Crosse.

 

Mr. Dux was a member for several years of the 128th Infantry of the National Guard. He was engaged in farming for a few years, later operated an oil business in Neillsville. For the last 12 years he had been an employee of the Badger State Telephone Company.  He became ill in March of this year.

 

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Carol, at home; three sisters, Mrs. Martha Brown and Mrs. O. K. (Agnes) Riplinger, both of Neillsville, and Mrs. Elsie Wells of Greenwood; and by two brothers, William S. and Alfred H. Dux, both of Neillsville.

 

Mr. Dux was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

 

Pallbearers were: Duane Anding, Jeffery Dux, Norbert and Norman Friske, Donald Wells, and Burton Wells.

 

"Asleep in Jesus" and "The Lord’s My Shepherd" were sung by Mrs. Harold Mayer, accompanied by Mrs. Dale Meihak.

 

People from out of town attending the service were: Leon Dux of Moorhead, Minn.; M. and Mrs. Joe Rasch of Wilmette, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Wells, Mrs. Elsie Wells, Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Friske, Mrs. Alfred Zillmer and Mrs. Irvin Carl, all of Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Norman Friske of Whitehall; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Dimeo, Jr., and family of Racine; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hendrickson of Spencer; Mrs. Lloyd Olson of Merrillan; Mrs. Elmer Rowe of Eau Claire; Burton Wells of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. John Gluch, Mr. and Mrs. Duane Anding and family of Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Silas Kleinschmidt of Chili.
