Wall, Beverly Lou (17 AUG 1963)

Given in marriage by her father, Miss Beverly Lou Wall became the bride of Mr. Kenneth Lyle Stevens when wedding vows were solemnized by the Rev. Ralph Claybaugh at the First Congregational Church in Owen on Saturday, Aug. 17, at 2:00 o’clock in the afternoon.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Wall of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Stevens of Wis. Dells.

For her wedding the bride selected a floor length sheath bridal gown of taffeta.  It featured a scooped neckline, cap sleeves, with a fitted bodice and a removable poufy balloon overskirt with a bow in the back waist.  Her headpiece was a fabric forward bow and petals with pearl trim to which was fastened her short, very bouffant veil of pure silk imported English illusion.  She carried an open heart bouquet of pink Garnett and white button pumps, with ivy foliage and flowering decorated the ribbon streamers.

Peggy Alger attended the bride as maid of honor, with bridesmaids being Miss Peggy Wall, sister of the bride, and Nancy Stevens, sister of the groom.  The maid of honor’s dress was in powder blue and the two bridesmaids were in royal blue.  They were fashioned identically in a street length sheath of nylon organza over taffeta.  They were designed with scooped necklines, three-quarter length sleeves, fitted bodice, with a bouffant overskirt which were trimmed with a bow in front.  They wore a pillbox headpiece with circle veils.  The bridesmaids carried lace horsehair baskets filled with light blue carnations and deeper blue pompoms, while the maid of honor carried a colonial bouquet with white carnations and light and dark blue pompoms.

Terry Stevens was the groom’s best man, and groomsmen were two friends, Kurtis Eddy and Tim Taschwer.  The groom and his attendants wore white dinner jackets and black trousers.

Following the ceremony a reception was held in the church dining room of the First Congregational Church in Owen.  That evening another reception was held at the Wis. Dells Community Building.

The bride is a graduate of the Owen-Withee Senior High School and attended the State College at Eau Claire.

The groom is a graduate of the Wis. Dells High School and a graduate of the State College of Stevens Point., where he majored in music.

The newlyweds will reside in Winter, Wis., where Mr. Stevens will teach music.
