Buechel, Charles (01 NOV 1924-10 JAN 2012)

 

Charles L. "Bud" Buechel, 87, Marshfield, died on Tuesday, Jan.10, 2012 at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. A private memorial service was held at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield. Rev. Rebekah Tarras officiated. Military rites were conducted by American Legion Post 54, Marshfield.

 

Charles Buechel was born on Nov. 1, 1924, in Louisville, Kent., the son of Edwin and Mary (nee Yates) Buechel. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during World War ll. He also served in the United Air Force Reserves forr six years and then the Army National Guard until his retirement. He also had been self-employed as a welder. He married Helen Mott in 1946. After 50 years of marriage, she died in 1996. He then married Jane Sauter Reckner on May 4, 1998.

 

Survivors include his wife, Jane; six children, Jeannie (Woody) DeSwarte, Alexandria, Va., Sherri (Guy) Skorganc, New Berlin, Charles "Skip" (Linda) Buechel, St. Francis, Connie (Jeff) Menger, Greenfield, Sandy (Mike) Wenninger, Hartford, and Deb (Tom) Breckenfelder, Greenfield. Three  step-children, Pam (Ray) Melander, Merrill, Jeff (Linda) Reckner, Stratford, and Cindy (Chuck) Pescinksi, Spencer; 24 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren expected this year.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, in infancy; a brother; and a great-grandson.
