Eugene Crandall and family spent Sunday with relatives at Neillsville.

 

Frank Hewett of Neillsville did surveying in Spokeville the first of the week.

 

Arthur Lammers and family are visiting old friends hereabouts since Tuesday.

 

Mrs. Ben Joern is enjoying a visit from her mother Mrs. Lindenthaler of Fall Creek since Tuesday.

 

Albert Mabie’s little son Donovan is very ill with pneumonia since Saturday.

 

Walter Krause, who recently came home from Rollo, N.D. has secured a clerkship at the Witte store.

 

Kearny Davis’ youngest daughter, little Charlotte, is very ill with pneumonia.

 

Mrs. Robert French of Independence, Ia., and her sister Mrs. Lapp spent Wednesday here at E.A. Beeckler’s.

 

Mrs. Chas. Neinas spent Wednesday at Chili assisting her sister Mrs. Will Neinas to get settled in her home.

 

Mrs. Conrad Jacobi has been ill since Tuesday.

 

Miss Martha Kempin spent Sunday at her home in Chili.

 

Mrs. Phillip Breseman had dental work done at Neillsville Monday.

 

Mrs. Eugene Osgood went to Fall Creek Friday for a couple of weeks visit with her daughter Mrs. Joseph Trader.

 

Arthur Stallman went to Camp Douglas late last week to see his best girl.

 

Miss Hallie Eberhart, who teaches at Camp Douglas this year, visited old friends here on Saturday.

 

Miss Gertie Howard came home Saturday from a week’s visit at Greenwood.

 

Will Lowery, who resigned the position of section foreman at Millston last month, is home since Friday from a visit to relatives at Fifield.

 

Miss Annette Berg went to Marshfield Saturday to meet her friend Miss Florence Converse, who was returning home from Milwaukee.

 

Fred Tyler visited his son Dale at the Marshfield hospital several days last week.

 

The Married Folks Dancing Club, which was organized last week, will give their first party tonight (Friday), at the Opera House.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Jensen and daughter Evelyn of Pine River arrived here last week Thursday and remained until Tuesday, guests in the L.N. Jensen home.  The ladies are sisters.

 

Mr. and Mrs. John Seaman of the town of Sherwood drive in Tuesday on Christmas shopping bent.

 

Dr. Leonard Harriman of Like Mills spent Sunday here at the frank Davis home.  Doctor is a brother of Mrs. Davis.

 

Mrs. Isla Galbreath came home Wednesday from Richland Center and Gotham where she spent the last three week with her father and his bride and other relatives.

 

Arbie McClaflin, after a several weeks visit at the Rice Davis home, returned to Arpin.  Mrs. Davis accompanied him as far as Marshfield.

 

Mike Grasser, Will Albrecht, A. Beil, who are on jury went down by freight from here Monday.

 

Miss Mae Phillips came over from Neillsville Saturday and remained until Tuesday, the guest of Mrs. M.V. Ayers.

 

Mrs. Marg came over from Marshfield Tuesday and visited her daughter Mrs. Gerzemehle.

 

Frant Osgood and Roscoe Galbreath transacted business at the county seat Friday.

 

Rev. Reiff was at Neillsville on business connected with the church last Friday.

 

Roscoe Smith, the Misses Jennie and Josie Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Smith of Stevens Point visited relatives here last week and attended the funeral of their late cosin Vernon Huntley.

 

Robert Smith, Mrs. Ira Davis and Mrs. Gust Vine, who came down from Greenwood last week to attend the funeral of the late Vernon Huntley, returned to their respective home on Monday.

 

Mrs. Smith of Greenwood is visiting her daughter Mrs. Solon Davis since the funeral of her grandson Vernon Huntley last Saturday.

 

Miss Annie Gardner and Mrs. Frank Gardner took dinner with town friends Monday.

 

Mrs. Will Geisler and two children came down from Greenwood Saturday for a visit at the George Howard home.

 

Jim Hughes moved into his fine new home on the old Welsh place last week.

 

Mrs. Huls of Brillion, after a week’s visit at the Fergie Richter home, went to Stanley Friday to visit her daughter, Mrs. Peter Schneider.

 

Miss Lydia Slocomb, after a six weeks visit with her sister Mrs. Geo. West, returned home to Loyal on Friday.

 

Miss Laura Neitzel went to Neillsville Saturday and met her sister Miss Elsie who came home from Merrillan for a day’s visit.

 

Herman Albrecht of the town of Hewett joined his wife here at the Geo. Huntley home last Friday and remained over until Saturday evening.

 

Mrs. Frances Woodward spent last Friday and Saturday here with Mrs. Breed and Mrs. Baer.

 

John Pietenpol was at Marshfield Tuesday to consult a specialist in regard to some nasal trouble.

 

Chas. Neinas came home Monday after a week’s absence in Chicago and Plano, Ill, and Milwaukee, Appleton and other state points.

 

The Mesdame Hale and W.S. Davis spent Tuesday at Neillsville engaged with china painting.

 

Edith Kempin, after a couple days visit with her sister Martha at the Fred Tyler home, returned to Chili on Tuesday.

 

Gustave Schmidtke of Heathville is home from North Dakota since late last week.

 

Mrs. W.J. Thayer and daughter Alva, Mrs. Willis Williams, Mrs. Rose Paulson, Miss Lilie Garbush, Mrs. J.B. Daughhetee, Mrs. Clifford Winn, Miss Grace Bartz, Mr. and Mrs. W.D. Rose, Gottlieb Pischer and Walter Graves were Neillsville visitors on Tuesday.

 

The German Lutheran Church in Rev. Reiff’s parish, which has been greatly enlarged and very materially improved in the past six months, will be dedicated in a manner quite becoming a new edifice, next Sunday.  Rev. Kemena of Loyal and Rev. F. Ohlrogge of Seymour have been engaged to officiate at the ceremony of dedication.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Anton Loskowski, the Misses Clara Pischer, Pearl and Haidee Beeckler, Mrs. P.M. Ross, Mrs. Clark Waterman, Ben Dudei, Robert and Chris Keller, Ernst Garbush, Oswald Pischer and Al Viergutz were among the Granton folks at the county seat Satu

.

 

Mrs. Wm. Kelpin went to Eau Claire Tuesday evening in response to the news of her son Otto’s serious illness.  Otto has been a tuberculosis patient in Dr. Montgomery’s hospital there for more than a year and last week pneumonia set in.  It is not expected that he will recover.  His sister Minnie, who is a professional nurse, is with him.

 

Mrs. Jane Owens, who had been visiting at the Walter Coil home in Spokeville, is again with Mrs. Albert Sternitzky since Thanksgiving.  Mrs. Owen reports her granddaughter Aletha Klein to be suffering from rheumatism and unable to attend school any since June.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Schuelke and daughter Alma, with Miss Amelia Hillet and Rev. Hasz, went to Ebbe Saturday that they might be present at the christening of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Prange’s new son, baby Orvill William Prange.  Miss Hiller acted as sponsor.

 

Miss Laura Gerzemehle is home from the Eau Claire hospital since Saturday.  Arnold Drescher went over and accompanied her home.  Though still very weak, she is slowly recovering.
