Francis, Harold L. (15 August 1923 - 14 February 2012) With Flag

Harold L. Francis, 88, of Marshfield died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at the Marshfield Care Center.

Harold was born Aug. 15, 1923, in Neillsville to Edward and Elizabeth (King) Francis.  He attended Neillsville area schools and barbering school in Milwaukee.  He was united in marriage to Lorraine M. Lezotte Dec. 9, 1943 in Black River Falls.

He served in the United States Army during World War II and after his honorable discharge he returned to Loyal where he operated his barbershop for over 52 years.  After his retirement, they moved to Marshfield and had lived there since.  His hobbies included fishing and hunting. While barbering, his pals would come into the shop daily and talk about fishing stories and many other topics.  He was respected in the community and loved by many.  He had a special love for his wife Lorraine, children and grandchildren.

Dad will be missed by his wife and family, but we know someday we will all be united - what a reunion.

He is survived by his wife Lorraine of Marshfield; daughters Patricia (Danny) Slaby of Landers, CA, Jacqueline (David) Slaby and Paula (David) Schumacher, both of Marshfield.  He is further survived by 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents and twin infant daughters, Jacqueline and Peggy.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at the Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield, with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Rev. Jean Irgewere officiated. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery with military rites conducted by the American Legion Post #175 of Loyal.
