Borowsky, Rev. Jacob (3 April 1894 - 4 March 1965)

Funeral services were held Saturday from St. Walter’s Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church of America, for its pastor, Rev. Jacob Borowsky, 70, who died here March 4.

Following the service from the church in Neillsville, another service was held Saturday afternoon from the Ukrainian Church in Thorp.  Burial was made in the church cemetery near Thorp.  The Rev. N. Antochy of Minneapolis was assisted by a priest from Lublin and one from Minneapolis in conduction of the services.

Jacob Borowsky was born April 3, 1894, in Olianycia, Ukraine. His parents were the late Joseph and Daria (Lipicka) Borowsky.  He was married October 10, 1918, to the former Angeline Rohleder.

They came to Neillsville in 1957, when they purchased the former Botnen Farm on the east edge of Neillsville.  In 1963 the Greek Orthodox Congregation purchased the former Congregational Church building.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, the Rev. Walter Borowsky of Minneapolis, Minn., Deacon Victor, who has made his home with his parents; a daughter, Elizabeth, of Minneapolis, and two grandchildren, Taras and Halyna.
