Blomquist, Arlene (29 JUN 1963)

After a two week wedding trip to the west, Mr. and Mrs. Vern F. Buchanan will make their home at Owen (Clark Co., Wis.).

Miss Arlene Blomquist, daughter of Mrs. Gladys Gray and Leroy Blomquist of Rockford, Ill, and Vern F. Buchanan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Buchanan of route 1, Curtiss, exchanged marriage vows in a 7:00 o’clock ceremony, performed Saturday evening, June 29, 1963, at the First Evangelical Free Church at Rockford, Ill.

The bride wore a floor length gown of nylon tulle and Chantilly lace.  A pearl crown held her fingertip veil.  The bridal bouquet was an arrangement of ivy with white roses and an orchid.

Lavender sheaths were worn by the bridal attendants who were Miss Lois Noldstad of Arlee, Mont., Miss Athree Hedrick of Columbus, Ohio, and Miss Joan Applegreen of Rockford.

Kenneth Buchanan of Curtiss served his brothers as best man.  Charles Blomquist of Minneapolis and Douglas Gray of Rockford were the groomsmen.  Peter Timmons of Mattoon, Ill., and James Applegreen of La Grange, Ill., performed the ushering duties.

Mrs. Gray wore a beige ensemble to her daughter’s wedding and Mrs. Buchanan was attired in blue.  Pink and red roses were used to make the mothers’ corsages.

Following the ceremony a reception was held in the church parlors.

The bride is a graduate of the East High School of Rockford and the St. Paul Bible College, St. Paul, and has been employed by the Billy Graham Evangelist Association at Minneapolis.

Her husband, a graduate of the Colby High School, is employed at Frederick Post Co., Owen.
