Owens, Gertie L. (18 MAY 1963)

 

A 7:30 p.m. double ring services in the First Congregational Church in Waukegan, Ill. united in marriage Miss Gertie Louise Owens and Douglas C. Collins on May 18, 1963.  Rev. Theodore E. Frank conducted the ceremony.

 

The bride is the daughter of Mr. Will Owens of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), and the groom is the son of Mr. Walter Collins of Waukegan and Mrs. Kathryn Stamater of Washington, D.C.

 

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of silk organza over bridal taffeta.  The bouffant skirt of her dress was accented with lace flowers and bow trim, and her bridal tulle veil was caught to a cluster of flowers.  She carried a white Bible adorned with ?.

 

Mrs. John Rummel, cousin of the bride, was matron of honor.  She was attired in a Copen blue sheath and a matching headpiece.  Her bouquet was an arrangement of white carnations and pink rose buds..  Miss Janice Stamater, sister of the bridegroom, was junior bridesmaid.  Janice was attired in a white organza lace trimmed dress and a flower headpiece.

 

Ellis Taylor was best man.

 

Following the wedding a reception was held at the American Legion Home.  Later the newlyweds left on a honeymoon trip to Wisconsin.

 

The couple will hereafter reside at 623 Center St., Waukegan, Ill.
