Hauser, Henry M. (8 January 1913 - 2 January 1965)

 

Funeral services were held Tuesday forenoon from St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville for Henry M. Hauser, 51, of Neillsville, who died suddenly at his home Saturday of a heart attack.  The Rev. Bernard T. Kelly officiated.  Burial was made in the parish cemetery. Military rites were held at the gravesite.

 

Mr. Hauser was born January 8, 1913, in Wood County, son of the late John and Anna (Kissenich) Hauser.  His parents moved to the Christie area when he was a year old. At the age of three he moved with his family to Neillsville, where he attended St. Mary’s parochial school and was a graduate of the Neillsville High School.

 

For Nine years he was employed as janitor at St. Mary’s Church.

 

In 1942 he entered the army and served overseas in France and Belgium. After receiving his discharge in 1945 he worked for a year at the former Condensery.

 

For the last 17 years he had been employed in the Neillsville post office as janitor and substitute carrier.

 

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, having served as an altar boy for several years; Knights of Columbus; Haugen-Richmond Post, No. 73 American Legion; and Maintenance Employees organization.

 

A general rosary service was said Monday evening at 8 p.m., followed at 8:30 by a Knights of Columbus rosary.

 

He is survived by his wife, the former Elizabeth Schock, whom he married July 27, 1937, in Neillsville; and by three sisters, Mrs. John (Eina) Schmidt, Mrs. Carl (Gertrude) Roder, and Mrs. Ed (Othelia) Rogstad, all of Loyal.

 

Pallbearers were all nephews of Mr. Hauser. They were: Paul Schmidt, Clarence Becker, Henry Schmidt, Franklin Walter, Joseph Schmidt and John Schwellenbach.

 

Postal employees attended the service in a body.
