Borum, Jean Kay (Marriage - 25 November 1964)

Nuptial vows were exchanged November 25 in the Lake Street Methodist Church in Eau Claire, uniting in marriage Miss Jean Kay Borum, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Homer H. Borum of that city, and Gerald H. Johnson, also of Eau Claire, son of Mrs. Lois Johnson of Neillsville, and the late Oscar Johnson. The Rev. M. O. Smith officiated at the nuptial ceremony.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, entered the church wearing a floor length gown of pure silk over tissue taffeta, styled with a bateau neckline embellished with pearls. A lace panel, from the neckline to the hemline, accentuated the fitted bodice and slim skirt.  Long, tapered sleeves came to a point at the wrist. The slim line of the skirt was further enhanced by a lace appliqué trimmed overskirt, which swept into a modified chapel train. Her lace illusion finger tip veil fell from a crown of pearl arches.

Miss Fern Borum of Eau Claire, maid of honor, wore a peau satin floor length, moss green gown.  Its scoop neckline and elbow-length sleeves accentuated the fitted bodice, which was styled with a midriff.  Her skirt, taking the slim lines from the bridal gown, featured a double bow at the front waistline.  Her crown of pearl arches with a pearl drop held a blush veil of moss green.

The bridal bouquet was a cascade bouquet of yellow sweetheart roses and white chrysanthemums, centered with a white orchid. The attendant’s bouquet was a cascade arrangement of tangerine carnations and gold and bronze pompon chrysanthemums.

Stephen Reidel of Eau Claire was bestman. Ushers were Albert Fremstad and Douglas Winrich, both of Eau Claire.

Following a wedding reception held in the church parlors the newly-married couple left on a short wedding trip to Minneapolis, Minn.

The bride attends Wisconsin State University in Eau Claire. The groom owns and manages a restaurant in that city.  They are residing at 516½ N. Oxford Ave. Eau Claire.
