Garbisch, Carl W. (10 September 1898 - 28 November 1964)

 

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Zion American Lutheran Church in the Town of Grant for Carl W. Garbisch of Granton, who died suddenly Saturday of a heart attack suffered while shoveling snow in the village. The Rev. Evan Dieck officiated.  Burial was made in the parish cemetery. 

 

Mr. Garbisch was born September 10, 1898, in the Town of Grant and attended rural school there.

 

On October 29, 1919, he was married to the former Nelda Lautenbach in Granton.  He had been a resident of Grant his entire lifetime, having farmed until 1956 in the town, when they retired.  Since that time Mr. Garbisch had been employed by the village of Granton.

 

He was a member of the Zion American Lutheran Church.

 

He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Alvin (Irene) Mott of Granton, Mrs. Jacque (Viola) Schmidt of Green Bay, and Mrs. Arden (Alice) Hinkelmann of Neillsville; three sons, Leland of Oak Creek, Marvin E. of Milwaukee, and Verne A. of Sheboygan; and by 12 grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.

 

Pallbearers were: Oscar Krause, Arno Winter, Arnold Garbisch, Arno Gotter, Dan Garbisch and Wilbert Goebel.
