Worchel, Lydia (6 NOV 1913)

Two more of the town of of Grant’s worthy young people entered upon the matrimonial seas yesterday, Thursday, Nov. 6th, 1913, when at 3 o’clock p.m. Rev. M. Hasz of the Maple Works German Lutheran Church officiating at a church ceremony, pronounced the words which united Miss Lydia Worchel and Mr. Edward O. Hillert in marriage.  The church was well filled with an assemblage of admiring relatives and friends of the contracting parties.  Mrs. Hasz played the wedding march and the bridesmaids, Miss Emelia Hillert, the groom’s sister, and Miss Mayme Hemp, the bride’s cousin, holding huge bouquets, made a floral arch under which the bridal pair passed in entering the edifice.  The bride was charmingly gowned in a dress of white satin trimmed with a fichu of silk, braided netting and wore a lace edged veil.  She carried a large bouquet of bride’s roses and lilies of the balley.  Her maids were dressed in cream serge.  The groom’s attendants wee Arnold Worchel, a brother of the bride, and Richard Hillert, a brother of the groom.

A reception and bounteous wedding supper at the Ben Dudei home followed the ceremony at the church.  The talbe was prettily decorated with pink and white carnations and white chrysanthemums.  The color scheme was pink and white.

The bride is an accomplished housekeeper, a young woman of most pleasing address and gentle ways.  She is one who has many friends.  Her parents are dead and for some time past has kept house for her stepfather, Mr. Be Dudei and her brother, all of whom have appreciated her work and assisted her in the same, to the best of their ability.

The groom is a son of Mr. Gottlieb Hiller, an industrious, honest, honorable young farmer, well qualified to care for a wife and establish a home of his own.  This happy pair will go to housekeeping in the new and modern house the groom has had erected this summer, on his farm southeast of Granton.

That theirs may be a happy and prosperous journey on life’s matrimonial sea is the wish of their many friends.
