Luoma, Susan Ann (16 FEB 1963)

St. Hedwig’s Catholic Chapel in Thorp was the scene of a wedding ceremony at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 1963, when matrimonial vows were exchanged by Miss Susan Ann Luoma, daughter of Senia Luoma, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), and Raymond Roger Mamayek, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Mamayek, Thorp (Clark Co.).

Officiating at the nuptial ceremony was the Rev. Edward Masliewicz with Delmar Anderson giving his sister-in-law in marriage.  Pink Gladioli decorated the church altar.  Clarence Turenne, Thorp, was the usher.

A bouquet of pink and white roses and feathered carnations in crescent formation was held by the bride, who was attired in a ballerina length gown of white satin and net featuring side panels of chiffon.  A crown held her tiered shoulder-length veil.

Attending the bridal pair were Mr. and Mrs. David Mamayek, Thorp, as best man and matron of honor, respectivel.  Mrs. Mamayek wore a dark green street-length frock designed with bustle back and rounded neckline coming to a V at the back.  Her flowers were yellow roses and feathered carnations.

The wedding dinner and reception were held at 12:00 o’clock noon at Cieslik’s Wink Inn and at 8:00 p.m. a party and buffet were held there for relatives and friends.

The bride, a 1961 graduate of Owen-Withee Senior High School, previously was employed in Des Plaines, Ill.  Her husband, who was graduated the same year from Thorp High School, is a logger and farmer.  The Mamayeks will make their home in Thorp.

Coming from out of town for the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. John Romanowski and Miss Pat Mamayek, all of Milwaukee; Mrs. Julian Slowiak, Chicago; and Mrs. Connie Trent, Curtiss.
