Conklin, Judith Ann (Marriage - 24 October 1964)

Judith Ann Conklin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Conklin of Thorp, exchanged wedding vows Saturday with James Kesler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Kesler of Greenwood, in a double ring ceremony, at which the Rev. Francis Brockman officiated in St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thorp.

Two hundred guests witnessed as the bride approached the altar with her father. She chose a wedding gown fashioned with a fitted Basque bodice, accented with bead and sequin trim.  Further enhancing the bodice were long, tapered sleeves and a scallop neckline, all in Chantilly lace. The full four-tiered skirt was styled with a four-foot-wide scalloped train that buttoned to the waistline, which after the ceremony, was made into a floor-length, full circle skirt.  Her illusion veil was secured to a crown of pearls and aurora borealis. She carried a cascade bouquet of red roses and white carnations.

Lila Conklin was her sister’s maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Connie Conklin, a sister; Marcella Adams, a foster sister of the bride; and Sharon Sandbloom of Milwaukee, sister of the groom.

A brother of the groom, David Kesler, was bestman. Groomsmen were Jerome Ohlinger of Colby, Jerry Olson, withy the armed forces in Hawaii, and Sven Sandbloom of Menomonie.  Ushers were Keith Williamson of St. Paul, Minn., and Richard Kesler of Neillsville.

Michael Sandbloom was ring-bearer, carrying the rings on a white satin pillow. Barbara Sandbloom was flower girl, attired as a miniature bride.

Nuptial music was furnished by the men’s choir of St. Bernard’s Church.

Two hundred guests attended the reception in the reception room of the church.

The new Mrs. Kesler is a graduate of Thorp High School and has been employed in Eau Claire.  Mr. Kesler, a graduate of Greenwood High School, is attending a technical school in Eau Claire, and will be a 1965 graduate of that school.  He has part-time work.

Mr. and Mrs. Kesler will reside at 405 Cameron Street, Eau Claire, on their return from a wedding trip to Port Arthur, Canada.
