Sunday, June 14, 1959 was a very important and happy day for Mr. and Mrs. Fred A. Stutte for on that day they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

The days activities were begun with a High Mass of Thanksgiving at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Norbert King, officiator.

A 12:30p.m. dinner was served at Hotel Charles, Marshfield with 36 present.  Floral pieces of pink and white carnations decorated the table.  Dainty floral designs decorated the place cards which were imported from Germany.  Fruit cocktail served over pink cracked ice added to the attractiveness of the table.  Hugo F. Stutte, son of the honored couple, served as toastmaster.  The Rev. Fr. King voiced expressions of congratulations, as did also two grandchildren, Sharon and Janet Mary Loos.

A buffet supper served in the home was beautifully arranged with an anniversary wedding cake as center piece.

A corsage of white and pink carnations was worn by Mrs. Stutte and Mr. Stutte wore a white boutonniere.

The former Annie Margaret Degenhardt was married to Fred A. Stutte in St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Cashton, June 13, 1899.

Mr. Stutte was born March 15, 1868, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Stutte.  Before his marriage he was a farmer at Eagle, Wis.  He enjoys walking and spends much time in this favorite pastime.

Mrs. Stutte was born at Cashton, Jan. 3, 1873, the daughter of Henry and Katherine Degenhardt.  She enjoys gardening and maintains vegetable, fruit, and flower gardens.

The health of both Mr. and Mrs. is very good considering their age.  Both are members of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.

Following their marriage they farmed at Norwalk until March 1909, when they moved to the farm then known as the Esselman place, south of Loyal.

November 1937 they retired from farming and built their home, a pleasant, comfortable six room house, in Loyal.

Three of their children, Mrs. Ben (Clara) Clouse, Mrs. Alex (Hilda) Loos, and Mr. Hugo F. Stutte, live at Loyal, and another daughter, Miss Laura M. Stutte lives in Chicago, Ill.  There are eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Mr. Stutte’s only brother, Joseph, who was one of the original wedding attendants, was unable to be present on account of ill health.

Coming from away to attend the wedding anniversary celebration were Miss Laura M. Stutte, Chicago; Miss Marlene Ann Loos, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Terrance Stutte and Miss Nan Jean Stutte, Racine; Miss Marilyn Joan Loos, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Eisenhart, Athens; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Degenhardt, Mrs. Henry Degenhardt, Mrs. Bernard Schweigher, and Mr. Frank Mashak, all of Cashton; and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Laffe and Mrs. Arnelia Clouse, Humbird.
