Jones, Kathleen Carol (Marriage - 1964)

 

Bouquets of pink carnations and white chrysanthemums graced the altar of the Zion Lutheran Church in Granton for a double ring ceremony solemnizing the marriage of Miss Kathleen Carol Jones of Beloit, and Frederick Garbisch, Jr., the 2:30 p.m. nuptial ceremony was performed by the Rev. F. C. Benecke.

 

Parents of the young couple are Mr. and Mrs. Ray Jones of Beloit, and Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Garbisch, Sr., of rural Granton.

 

The bride entered the church with her father, who gave her in marriage. She wore a floor length gown of white nylon over taffeta, styled with a full bouffant skirt tiered with layers of lace.  The fitted Basque bodice featured long, tapered sleeves and a scalloped neckline. Her shoulder length veil was attached to a rhinestone and pearl crown headpiece. A bouquet of pink roses entwined with green was carried by the bride.

 

Mrs. Ronald Garbisch of Granton served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Karen Olson, a friend, of Beloit; Elsie Garbisch, sister of the groom; and Cheda Jones, sister of the bride. Micky Marty carried the rings on a white satin pillow; his sister, Charilyn, was flowergirl.

 

Ronald Garbisch of Granton attended the groom as bestman.  Groomsmen were Dale Marg, David Hillert, and Kenneth Pischer.  Ushers were Gerald Lautenbach and Gerald Schuelke.

 

William Chambers of Loyal, soloist sang, "The Wedding Prayer" and "The Lord’s Prayer," accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Leland Garbisch.

 

A reception and wedding supper were held in the church parlors.  In the evening a reception was held at the Garbisch home from 7 to 9 p.m. Following the reception Mr. and Mrs. Garbisch left on a brief wedding trip to northern Michigan.  In October they will continue their honeymoon by going to Kansas City, Mo., where Mr. Garbisch will be awarded the American Farmers’ degree by the Future Farmers of America.

 

The bride is a 1964 graduate of Beloit High School.  Mr. Garbisch who has been active in 4-H club work is a 1962 graduate of Granton High School.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Garbisch will reside on the groom’s farm in the Town of Grant.

R. Schimmel and two children and Miss Pauline Nelson of Superior; Miss Janet Sherman, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Schuelke and family, and Mrs. Pearl Werner of Milwaukee.
