Mr. and Mrs. George Smith and sons of Chili visited his mother, Mrs. Martha Harmel, on Saturday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Cornel Erickson spent Saturday at Eau Claire with their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Don Schumacher and family.

 

Mrs. Emil Matthias and son Dale, who is home on vacation from his duties at Idlewild Airport, New York, left on Monday for Seattle, Wash., to visit relatives and the World’s Fair.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Orville Laabs and son, Jim, drove to Green Bay to see the Packers play on Sunday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. James Tesinski of Chicago and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Williams were Sunday evening visitors of Mrs. Ida Schiszik.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Smith, Mrs. Martha Harmel, Albert Smith, Mrs. Sylvia Frahman and Eldon Smith drove to Fond du Lac on Monday to attend the funeral of Mrs. Ingman Gilbertson, who passed away on Saturday.  Mrs. Gilbertson is the former Mabel Smith, who was raised in the Town of Hoard, as was her husband.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Emery Peissig enjoyed a weekend of fishing in the Phillips area with some Minneapolis friends.

 

The Luther Leaguers of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church enjoyed a hayride party and outdoor lunch on Sunday evening.

 

The Curtiss Community Club served a luncheon at noon on Monday in honor of Congressman Lester Johnson, who addressed the crowd of over 100.  He is campaigning for re-election in the November election.
