Hady, Mary Jo (Marriage - 29 August 1964)

The Blessed Sacrament Church in Madison was the scene Saturday of the wedding of Mary Jo Hady of Middleton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Hady of Middleton, and Daniel R. Slone, son of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Slone of Rt. 1 Greenwood. The Rev. Fr. Connally officiated at the double ring nuptial mass. Bouquets of white flowers graced the altar.

One hundred guests witnessed as the bride approached the altar attired in a street length white gown of lace over taffeta, fashioned with a full skirt.  A Sabrina neckline enhanced the fitted bodice further accented by long sleeves. Her short veil was attached to a white lace pillbox hat.  She carried one long-stemmed red rose.

Miss Ruth Hady, a sister, was maid-of-honor.  She was attired in a blue lace over taffeta street length dress.  A blue lace cap completed her ensemble.  She carried one long-stemmed white rose.

Corron Baker of Dundee, Ill., was the bestman.  Peter Hady, brother of the bride, and Dick Slone, brother of the groom, were ushers.

"Ave Maria" and "Panis Angelicus" were sung by Miss Kathy Slone.

A reception for 100 guests was held at St. Peter’s Church in Ashton.

The bride has attended the University of Wisconsin and is employed in the records library at the University Hospital in Madison.  Mr. Slone, a graduate of the Neillsville High School, will attend the University of Wisconsin, where he is taking an agricultural course. They will reside in Madison after September 8, on their return from a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin.

Guests from out of town attending the wedding were Mrs. Lillian Slone of Morris, Ill., Mrs. Ruth Miller of Coral City, Ill., both grandmothers of the groom; and the bride’s grandfather from Watertown.  Other guests were from Madison, Middleton, Watertown, Glenbulah, and Greenwood; and from Morris and Newark, Ill.

Prior to the wedding the Misses Kathy and Mary Slone were hostesses at a nuptial shower at the Slone home near Christie.
