Halpin, Donald (15 May 1930-29 Nov 1957)

 

Following a truck accident near Milwaukee at 8:22 a.m. Friday, Nov. 29 the death of Donald Halpin, 27, occurred before the hospital was reached.

 

Funeral services were held at the Kurtz Funeral Home at Hartford at 9:30 a.m. Monday and Mass followed at St. Claire’s Catholic Church at North Lake at 10 a.m. The body was then brought to Loyal where graveside rites were held in the Catholic Cemetery at 4 p.m.

 

Donald Halpin was born at Black River Falls, May 15, 1930.

 

He is a graduate of the Loyal High School. He was married to Darlene Hales of Loyal in Nov. 1950. Following there marriage they lived in Milwaukee and areas near there.

 

He is survived by his wife and four children, Barbara, Michael, David and Rebecca, all of Merton; by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Halpin of Loyal; and by two brothers, William Halpin of Elkader, Iowa, and Dennis of Loyal.

 

Among those from out of town who attended the graveside rites for Donald Halpin in the Catholic parish cemetery Monday afternoon were Mr. and Mrs. William Halpin, Elkader, Iowa; Miss Leila Banks, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Glen Kutchera, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hoffman, and MR. and Mrs. Robert Kutchera, Humbird.

 

Mrs. Ray Laufenberger, Alma Center; Mrs. Donald Shad and Mr. and Mrs. John Michels, Lake City, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. M. G. Hales and daughter Mary Jo of Manawa; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Weihmueller of Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Benda and Marcellus Benda, Goodhue, Minn.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Denk and Mr. and Mrs. George Haeuser, Greenwood; and others from Merton. North Lake, and Manawa.

 

Several Loyal friends of the family called at the Hartland funeral home Sunday afternoon. Among them were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Esselman, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Rondorf, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Ellison, Johnnie Stumpner, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Kehrberg.
