Zillmer, Dorothy Alice (Marriage - 18 April 1964)

The Fairview Catholic Church, near Fairchild was the scene Saturday of the wedding of Dorothy Alice Zillmer of Fairchild, daughter of Mrs. Esther Zillmer of Silver Lake and formerly of Augusta, and John H. Mayer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Mayer of Fairchild. The Rev. M. J. Molinaro officiated at a 9:30 a.m. nuptial mass.

The bride wore a Schiffli embroidered gown, styled with a square neckline and elongated bodice that billowed into a wide duster flounce. The full bouffant skirt extended into a chapel length sweep.  Her elbow-length veil was gathered to an open, pearl trimmed queen’s crown.  Her bouquet consisted of an orchid surrounded by yellow tea roses and showers of rose buds streamers.

Mrs. Robert Niemi of Madison was her matron-of-honor.  Bridesmaids were Mrs. Robert Mayer and Miss Janet Flynn, both of Fairchild. The attendants wore street-length dresses of orchid organza over taffeta.  Cap sleeves and scoop neckline accented the empire line of the waist topping a slim skirt.  A tiered removable overskirt completed the dresses. A pearl-tipped cloque held their blush veils. They carried bouquets of white and orchid carnations.

Robert Mayer of Fairchild was bestman.  Groomsmen were Daniel Holman of Humbird and Bernard Larson of Fairchild.  Ushers were David Zillmer and David Mayer.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Mayer are employed in a café near Fairchild.
