Smith, Audrey B. (15 November 1895 - 31 January 1964)

 

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the Georgas Funeral Home in Neillsville for Mrs. Lloyd (Aubrey B) Smith, 68, of Marshfield, who died Friday, in St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.  The Rev. W. C. Koehler of the United Church of Christ officiated.

 

Monday, the body was taken to Sheldon, where services were conducted from the Church of Christ and burial was made in Woodlawn Cemetery there.

 

Mrs. Smith was born November 15, 1895, in Cravity, Ia.  She attended rural schools in Iowa and on November 15, 1916 she was married to Lloyd Smith in Lenox, Ia.  They farmed in Iowa until 1920, when they moved onto a farm near Sheldon.  In 1944, they moved onto a farm near Granton, and in 1954 they moved to Marshfield, where they have been residing since.  Mrs. Smith had been in failing health for the last year.

 

Surviving are her husband and two daughters, Mrs. Chester (Helena) Turville of Neillsville; and Mrs. Arthur (Eunice) Anderson of Marshfield; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

 

Pallbearers were: Dr. R. Reynolds, Sr., Desco Gieslman, John Videmsnek and Lester, Ernest, and Harold Baughman.  At the Neillsville service, Mrs. W. C. Koehler sang, "In the Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross" accompanied by Mrs. Jess W. Scott.  At Sheldon, "Rock of Ages" and "Sometime we’ll Understand" were sung by Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Cooper, accompanied by Mrs. Harvey Burch. 

 

People from away attending the service in Neillsville were: Lloyd Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Anderson and sons, Mrs. Edna Breseman, Marie Weidman, Mrs. Clyde Kiddoo, Mrs. Mildred Stolzman, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Folz, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. E. Schlagenhoft and Blanche Lubinski, all of Marshfield.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Dale Turville and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Thompson of Rockford, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Turville, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Walter, Esther Mielke, Helen McCauley and Grace Perso, all of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kurz of Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Sutton and family of Sheldon.

 

Those attending services at Sheldon were: Lloyd Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Anderson of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Chester Turville of Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Dale Turville, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Thompson of Rockford, Ill.; Grace Perso of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kurz of Spencer; Mrs. Homer Byington, Carl and Diane, and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Dahnert of Wisconsin Rapids; and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Baughman of Greenwood.
