Asplin, Kathryn Ann (Marriage - 25 January 1964)

Grace Methodist Church in Greenwood was the scene Saturday of the wedding of Kathryn Ann Asplin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Craig Asplin of Greenwood, and Eugene Joe Beyer of Freeport, Ill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Beyer of Radott, Ill.  The Rev. David Kellin performed the double ring ceremony.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a long antique white gown of Empress Satin styled with a scoop neckline and three-quarter length sleeves that were shirred at the elbow. The controlled bell skirt was enhanced by a bateau panel, adorned with cabbage roses that cascaded from back of neckline.  A satin pillbox hat, trimmed with handmade satin roses, held her bouffant veil of silk illusion.  She carried a white Bible, topped with white bud roses and stephanotis.

Her attendants were Miss Alberta Zink of Carbondale, Ill., who was maid of honor; and Mrs. Janice Artman of Freeport, Ill, bridesmaid.  They wore emerald green floor-length dresses with matching jackets.  Their attire was enhanced by the small pillbox headpieces. Each carried a cascade bouquet of carnations.

Bradford Eden carried the rings on a white satin pillow as ringbearer.  Sherry Eden was flower girl.

Bill Harback of Lena, Ill, was bestman.  Groomsman was Robert Armitage of Neillsville. Ushers were Marvin Beyer, Bill Station and Thomas Armitage.

A reception was held in the American Legion Hall in Greenwood.

The bride is a graduate of Lena High School and attended State University at Carbondale, Ill., for two years. She has been employed in an insurance office in Freeport, Ill. Mr. Beyer; also a Lena High School graduate is a student at an automotive school in Chicago.  Mr. and Mrs. Beyer are residing at 3355 Eastwood Ave., Chicago.
