Spindler, Faye H. (24 JUN 1961)

The Ebenezer United Church of Christ was the scene of a wedding Saturday, June 24, 1961, that of Miss Faye Helen Spindler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Spindler of Stratford, and Robert H. Cieslek of Ft. Riley, Kan., son of Mr. and Mrs. John Cieslek, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.).  The young couple was married before the Rev. Harvey Reh during 11:00 o’clock services in the church, with William Ziegler singing "O Promise Me" and "The Lord’s Prayer."  Bouquets of white pompons decorated the church, the pews being decorated with white bows.

The bride, presented in marriage by her father, was attired in a schiffli embroidered gown of nylon organza designed by a Sabrina neckline trimmed with sequins and pearls.  The bow-trimmed scalloped overskirt swept to a flowing chapel train and her scalloped edge veil of English silk illusion was caught to a crown of imported aurora borealis crystals.  She carried a cascade style bouquet of two pink cymbidium orchids and white stephanotis entwined with ivy.

Attendants from Stratford in the bridal party were the matron of honor, Mrs. Jerry Hahn, and bridesmaids, Miss Dixie Spindler and Miss Noreen Helstrom, with Mrs. Philip Cieslek of Owen.

They wore identically styled floor length gowns of velveray embroidered taffeta in yellow, green, pink and orchid, respectively, with fitted bodices, scoop necklines and short puff sleeves.  The skirts were detailed in the back by a huge pouf accented with a bow and streamers to the hemline.  Headpieces were in matching colors styled with a cabbage rosebud, side clips and short veils, and they carried sprays of sweetheart roses on evening handbags.

Attending the groom were Phillip Cieslek of Owen and groomsmen, Jerry Hahn, Kenneth Spindler and Aaron Clifton, all of Stratford.  Otto Spindler and Ervin Schmidt ushered.

A dinner was served guests at Holiday Lanes and a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents.

The bride is a graduate of Stratford High School and has been employed at the office of Dr. Frederick C. Kroeplin, Stratford.  The groom attended Owen High School and is serving in the U.S. Army.  They are now on a wedding trip through northern Wisconsin.
