Olson, Karen J. (3 JUN 1961)

St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church at Thorp was the scene of the wedding of Miss Karen Jean Olson and Joseph A. Koltis, daughter and son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence A. Olson, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), and Mrs. Josephine Koltis of Thorp.

The Rev. Francis Disher officiated at the marriage ceremony and 11:00 o’clock nuptial Mass on Saturday, June 3, 1961.

Appropriate music for the occasion was played as Miss Olson was presented in marriage by her father before an altar decorated with white and yellow gladioli.

She carried a white orchid on a prayer book and wore a gown of Chantilly lace fashioned with a Sabrina neckline, cap sleeves and a floor length skirt.  Her veil of pure silk illusion was made in England and her crown of lace was designed with seed pearls and sequin trim.

Mrs. Helen Frienak of Thorp was in the wedding party as matron of honor and wore a blue lace over satin dress in floor length with a jacket and matching headpiece.

James C. Olson of Owen attended the groom.

A dinner and reception were held in the school basement of St. Hedwig’s Church.

The young couple will make their home in Thorp after a wedding trip through northern areas.
